Welcome Back! Outreach Breakfast
September 9: The
Outreach Committee and youth of the church sponsor a breakfast with
exhibits from local organizations supported by St. John's. A great time
to catch up with one another after the summer and have a look at some of
the organizations supported by the Outreach Committee.

at St. John's.
Strategic Plan Unveiled
September 23: The
Strategic Planning Committee unveils the results of its months long
study. Please note the Forum this Sunday begins at 9 a.m. A second
opportunity to hear and respond to the Strategic Plan will be provided
next Sunday at 6 p.m.
A Bishop Visits
September 30: The
Rt. Rev'd Kirk S. Smith, Bishop of Arizona, visits St. John's. Bishop
Smith was Assistant to the Rector at St. John's, 1979-1984.
Same Sex Blessings
October 7: A
forum on the new diocesan policy concerning blessing of same sex civil
unions.
God's Healing Grace
October 14: A
discussion on healing in the church in preparation for the institution
of prayers for healing at Sunday services, beginning in January.
Emerging Alliance of Religion and Ecology
October 21: John
Grim, Visiting Professor at the Institution for Social and Policy
Studies at Yale, speaks about religion and ecology from a background of
extensive study in world religions.
Praying with Icons
October 28: A
brief look at the growing use of icons in Episcopal worship and
devotion, following Saturday's workshop on icons and devotional art.
